🔥 Fossil Fuels
Fossil fuels made up 88.8% of Egypt’s electricity generation. Natural gas supplied the majority at 81.3%, with other fossil sources such as oil contributing 7.5%.
🌍 Renewables
Renewables reached 11.2% of electricity generation. Hydropower remained the largest contributor at 6.05%, supported by long-established Nile River dams. Wind and solar both provided 2.6%, reflecting recent growth in utility-scale projects.
