Wave
Wave energy is generated by capturing the kinetic energy of ocean waves as they move through the water. Devices such as wave energy converters (WECs) or buoys are deployed in the ocean to capture the energy from the up-and-down motion of waves.
Wave energy emerges as an environmentally friendly solution, generating electricity with minimal emissions while avoiding pollution and reducing ecological footprint. The movements of the ocean harbor vast untapped kinetic energy, making wave energy an abundant and predictable renewable source.
There are financial and technological challenges to overcome in further scaling wave energy. Commercial deployment of tidal and wave energy is still early. More funding and research are needed for efficient, durable, and reliable technology.
